The EU driving licence is uniform since the European harmonisation of the drivers legislation on 1st January, 1999. It is accepted in all EU countrys. At the back are the editions and restrictions. Furthermore subclasses specific for lands and special provisions are allowed in certain circumstances, possibly with low reach of the vehicles.
About 110 different driving licence models within the EU are removed by 2012 according to valid EU right by the uniform European driving licence. From then the EU driving licence is obliging with the new exhibit. The old forms are valid another 26 years futher, then an exchange in the new driving licence is obligatory.
The EU driving licence is the card format ID1 and can contain similar security signs like a ID card.
